Transmutations Martin Becka has taken and developed a series of scenic photographs of Dubai using only equipment from the 18th century. Becka spent two years photographing the city of Dubai through the bellows of his large format view camera. The process uses waxed paper negatives, invented in 1851 by Gustave Le Gray. These photographs were carried out on albumin paper and were toned with gold. This unique photographic project was exhibited at Dubai’s Empty Quarter Gallery this past fall. Also launched, as part of this exhibition a limited edition book, “Dubai, Transmutations” Transmutations via CNN
