- The magic of a Magnum photograph - the Guardian nearly 200,000 original press prints of images taken by world-renowned Magnum photographers, will be preserved, catalogued and made accessible by the Ransom Center - Magnum Photos sells its US press print archives MSD Capital, die Investmentfirma des US-Computerunternehmers Michael Dell kauft das US-Printarchive von Magnum. Alle Mitglieder mussten dem Verkauf zustimmen. Die Fotografen behalten die Rechte an ihren Bildern, viele bekommen einen Anteil aus dem Erlös der Transaktion.

Stuart Franklin von Magnum Photos nahm ein Foto auf, auf dem infolge seines größeren Blickfeldes mehr Panzer zu sehen sind.
Charlie Cole von Newsweek gewann für seine Aufnahme einen World Press Photo Award. Das Bild wurde in die vom Time Magazine zusammengestellte Liste der 100 Fotografien, die die Welt veränderten, aufgenommen.
